An Introduction to Massage

This workshop is for anyone who has an interest in learning the basics of massage for home use, or is considering professional training and would like a taster.

For Home Use

013aThis is an excellent opportunity for people who have enjoyed receiving massage, and would like to learn some basic skills to use at home. Nothing beats a good professional deep tissue massage, but knowing how to help massage away shoulder & back aches & pains on a daily basis can be a huge advantage for busy or stressed people.

For Professional Use

Taking a massage training course is a big commitment, both in time and money – and it is important to be sure before taking the plunge that you have the right core skills. The intuitive “feel” for effective bodywork, the mental approach for the academic side of the work – you will need to know anatomy, physiology and pathology in depth – and the necessary communication skills for working with clients. This workshop will help you discover whether professional massage training is for you.

Intro to Massage workshop dates

  • a private 4 hour intensive 1+1 session for a couple or 2 people

Our next Diploma Course commences in autumn 2020. If you enrol, £50 of the Intro workshop fee will be set against the course fee.

The day is designed to be fun, informative and experiential, and you will learn some of the basics of massage including:-

  • The history of massage020a
  • The benefits of massage
  • How massage works to relax muscles and relieve stress
  • Which oils to use for massage
  • How to give massage to the arms & hands; back & shoulders; legs & feet

Fee for the intensive 1+1 4 hour session – held in Muswell Hill.

Fees for the Introduction Day – payable with the booking

  • £85 per attendee
  • £150 for two people
